HAPPY MONDAY!!
Gosh, the week sure came back around fast, I feel like I have missed a day or something. We are taking a peek in one of my many bags today. Shout out to my fellow bag ladies! I couldn't help adding 'Erykah Badu's - Bag Lady' clip in here.
This bag is perhaps one of the smallest I own, and perhaps one of my favourites. A vintage fair find! yup, I wasn't going to pass it up at all. When I first got it, it had that old, stored with mothballs smell, but over time and with a few airing out sessions on the washing line. It was as good as new. Someone had really made an effort to take care of this bag. And I imagined it was perhaps an investment piece.
It is real leather, with some seriously thick and intricate weaving work on the flap. I was instantly in love with it, the pattern has a tribal feel, and I sometimes imagined the person who sat there diligently making these beautiful patterns, taking care to get every line straight and the thread colors blending perfectly. The varied colours add a pop of interest to my normally monochrome looks and match with some of my other coloured items of clothing. The size is perfect for someone like me who tends to pack everything including the sink in her bags, thus making them heavy and potentially a health risk or weapon. So, I am forced to think logically and only consider the bare essentials with this bag.
- Phone - wouldn't go anywhere without it, it's an extension of my life
- Small note book & pen - always in my bags, you never know when inspiration or a moment of clarity will hit
- Business cards - because I never know, who I might meet, they are just always there just incase
- Real Techniques brush & Mac Mineralise Finishing powder - I have oily skin, and prefer to keep a semi mat, polished look to my visage not an oily mess, these are needed for touchups throughout the day.
- Face rag - given to me by a dear Japanese friend on her return from Tokyo, it is so soft and the pattern is gorgeous
- Sleek Lip Butter - This is not just moisturising, but gives a subtle pop of colour, love it
- Purse - for obvious reasons I always have my purse with me, coins for parking, and all my cards - this was also a present from another friend a Michael Kors coin purse.
And with that, I leave you with a recipe inspiration.
